A few days ago, a teenager threw an IED into a crowd in front of Gracie mansion. (Fortunately, it did not go off. No one was hurt.) Once in police custody, the young perpetrator pledged his allegiance to ISIS. These facts are not in dispute; only the reporting of them is.
It was textbook Islamic terrorism, aimed at what this young man perceived to be infidels. It had nothing to do with our domestic internecine politics, only international terrorism aimed at all Americans, but you’d never know it if you got your news from the legacy media.
According to them, some right-winger threw a homemade bomb at Muslim mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new home, Grace Mansion. To read them, you’d think it was textbook “Islamophobia.” Or, as another story went, it was some kid who showed up on a warm early spring day then, though some magical series of events of which he himself was a victim, found himself mixed up in some very serious trouble, somehow, and gosh darn it, nothing is what it appears.
That was a take too, unbelievably.
First up, the X post from CNN — now deleted — that started a well-deserved round of howling from those of us with clear eyes and sources other than legacy media.
As the X-poster wrote, every CNN employee who participated in it should be fired. What a disgrace. It would be a disgrace (and a teachable moment) at a high school newspaper, never mind a global bleeping network. It’s hard to believe someone at that level could write such dreck, but here we are. Yet again.
That X post began a round of posts like this one, from all quarters, not just satire writers. From everyone with eyes to see. Some of them would’ve been funny had the entire thing not been such an indictment on our garbage “news” media:
The Federalist’s Sean Davis has exactly the right take when CNN finally deleted it:
But it wasn’t just CNN, which would be bad enough. Behold The New York Times:
Again — it’s right there in the picture. And there’s clear video of the entire episode. The facts are not in dispute in any way, shape or form.
Finally, this beauty ABC News, though I could have gone on.
“Activists”? Really??? And the way it reads, you’d think the “activist” was “far-right” instead of the self-confessed ISIS wanna-be he is. The caption is purposely misleading. The writing tortured to produce the desired left-wing narrative.
The only “activists” in this whole sordid mess are the members of the press, twisting and torturing the facts to force a desired outcome. This isn’t just mere bias. It’s active and malicious framing of indisputable facts to elicit a response, make the reader or viewer draw a conclusion: that the real evil in this world is the “far-right” and the real victims in this world are the Muslims, like Mayor Zohran Mamdani. It is written as though the writer cannot conceive of the world any other way.
And here’s something to contemplate: It is to weep that this mayor — of all mayors — will oversee ceremonies this coming September 11th, twenty-five years after that terrible day. We can only imagine what he’ll say. What he won’t say. What he will imply. And how this garbage media will buttress, reinforce, and amplify him. We should steel ourselves for it, know it’s coming.
