Every morning over āļø coffee, I do my “rounds” on a half-dozen or so websites to see what news broke overnight. Invariably I am left slack-jawed at the insanity I see coming from Democrats, thus this (near) daily feature, š¤Æ The Lunatic Left Series. Usually it’s comprised of 3-6 X posts or stories I see elsewhere, so it’s not meant to be comprehensive. Just a quicky!
First up today, a truly horrifying piece of news from our progressive friends in the north, Canada.

According to an official review, the woman told one assessor she wanted to withdraw her request for assisted death, citing āpersonal and religious values,ā and asked for hospice care instead.
Her hospice placement was quickly denied, and her husband requested an āurgentā reassessment for assisted dying, saying he could no longer cope with caring for her.
She was euthanized that same evening.
Reviewers later said the short timeline failed to properly examine her true wishes, with the case raising serious questions about Canadaās approach to euthanasia.
Yeah… that’s murder. State-sanctioned murder. And I don’t know what else to say. That poor woman… š
Next up, the poor, beleaguered Little Sisters of the Poor are back in court. If you’re not familiar, this group of nuns was first sued by Hussein for not wanting to include abortifacients in their insurance plan after the passage of Obamacare. He took them all the way to the Supreme Court, where they found some relief, but because it’s the Roberts’ Court, and he always has to have weasel words even when doing the right thing, there was enough wiggle room in the ruling to keep various flavors of these lawsuits going for what seems like forever. So here we are, back in court with these dear ladies.
So that’s two stories about Democrats loving death more than life. (h/t to the Chris Plante radio show for that astute observation about Democrats.)
Next, if it’s not your life, it’s your money they’re after. And hoooooo boy, did they grab a bunch of it in Cali. Look at this:

California wasnāt mismanaged.
It was looted.
I saw a post yesterday that reminded me that 2/3’s of our entire federal budget is what’s known as “direct payments” to individuals. With that much cash flowing, and it’s all other people’s money as far as the bureaucrats are concerned, is it any wonder we’re $38T in debt? NOBODY IS MINDING THE STORE. You know all those “oversight” hearings? “Oversight” my ass.
And finally, the shooting. There was a second ICE involved fatal shooting Saturday in Minneapolis, and again, it was the result of a series of catastrophic decisions made by the dead. A 37 year old man decided the thing to do was strap on a 9mm with a laser sight and 2 extra magazines and go confront ICE. He faced off with an agent, resisted arrest, and reached for his gun. That was the last decision he ever made and of course, the left is going insane. One congresswoman in particular really hit a homerun with this post on X:
Where to even begin? “Another person being killed by federal immigration agents” as a direct result of their poor decision making. As to human life being valued: don’t even with me on that. Democrats are the party of late-term abortion and pediatric castration and mutilation. “Value life”? No. You don’t get to opine on the value of life. And “unidentified agents” “terrorizing and even killing people without ramifications”? How about “unidentified ILLEGALS terrorizing and even killing people without ramifications”??? PLEASE.
